Mick Jagger creates scholarship in L'Wren Scott's honour
The Rolling Stones frontman will honour his late partner by supporting young fashion designers
Mick Jagger has created a scholarship for fashion students in memory of his partner of 13 years, designer L’Wren Scott, who took her own life last March, reports WWD.
The scholarship will pay tuition and a contribution to living expenses for one student enrolled in the two-year Masters programme at London’s esteemed Central Saint Martins University (CSM) each year for the next three years.The scholarship programme will begin with the new academic year in October.
Central Saint Martins’ famous alumni include Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou, Stella McCartney, John Galliano and Phoebe Philo.
Fabio Piras, course director of the MA fashion program at CSM, said: “I am very grateful to receive this extremely generous scholarship package, gifted by Mick Jagger in L’Wren Scott’s name.”
