Zac Posen is Brooks Brothers womenswear's new creative director

The American designer will lend his glamorous touch to America's oldest men's apparel brand

Brooks Brothers has revealed that Zac Posen has joined the label as its womenswear creative director.

"I am truly honoured and excited to be embarking on this incredible opportunity to take the Brooks Brothers women's brand into the future while respecting its deep, rich American heritage as an institutional company," the 33-year-old Project Runway judge said.

Despite the difference in aesthetic from both parties – Zac is known for Euro-glamour while Brooks Brothers prides itself with its straight-up American heritage – the latter's CEO, Claudio Del Vecchio said that "We want to better ourselves and have another point of view... he can add to what we're already doing."

Zac will debut his first Brooks Brothers collection as creative director in Spring 2016.
