Don't panic, Louis Vuitton x Supreme is still happening, but there's a catch
Earlier reports about Louis Vuitton cancelling the release of the collection are wrong
Yesterday, reports were made about how the long-awaited Louis Vuitton x Supreme AW17 capsule collection, slated for worldwide release on 14 July 2017, had been cancelled. However, before you start hating on the universe, know that this is not entirely true.
According to the latest reports, customers in the US will still be able to shop their favourite hypebeast pieces, but most probably at a later date. As for those of us on this side of the world, it seems all is still well.
In neighbouring Singapore, hordes of fans have been lining up outside the Louis Vuitton store in ION Orchard in hopes of receiving a raffle ticket that will allow them a spot in line when the collection drops tomorrow at 10.30am. The raffle happened this morning, and only the lucky few with tickets numbered between 1 and 350 will shop the collection first. Afterwards, the shopping space will be opened to non-ticket holders, provided there's even anything left to buy.
Alternatively, if you have friends or family in China, they might be able to snag something for you by signing up for drop updates with this QR code.
The mini heart attack LV x Supreme fans had was due to an email from a Louis Vuitton client services representative to Hypebeast. It read, "This collection will no longer be sold in any stores or online." Later on, it was revealed that the brand has chosen to cancel all its collaboration pop-up locations in America – this, unfortunately, is true.
While things remain a little up in the air for our friends in the US, the hype gods are certainly smiling down on shoppers in Asia. Best of luck to those in line!
