Victoria's Secret show costumes have been unveiled
This year's costumes promise to be as dramatic as ever
Every year, the Victoria's Secret fashion shows have certain dramatic themes, and this year is no different, even though the venue has moved from the US to London. And now the label has revealed the themes for the upcoming event on December 2 with some detailed sketches of the costumes.
The theme that will open the show is 'Gilded Angels', which promises to make the models look like "goddesses drenched in gold leaf"; 'Exotic Traveller' sees the models adorned with mirrors and jewels exploring "Mongolian, Asian and Indian influences". (We hope they'd deliver it tastefully rather than cultural appropriating it.)
'Fairy Tale' combines Shakespeare with the Brothers Grimm, dressing the girls as "firefly-like pixies", so expect more wings; 'Dream Girl' will transport us back to the 1950s, channelling a boudoir babe in fluffy slippers.
'University of Pink' takes the company's younger label to the urban street with graffiti prints inspired by Jeremy Scott, Kenzo and vintage Versace; while this year's finale is 'Angel Ball' – a monochromatic celebration of both classic tuxedos and elegant gowns.
