Victoria Beckham to receive OBE, but some people aren't happy about it
Twitter users are torn about whether the fashion designer deserves it or not
Victoria Beckham is not just Posh Spice. If you are active on social media or are able to read/listen to/understand news, you might know that the 42-year-old mother of four has added many accomplishments to her belt following her career with the Spice Girls.
UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassadorship; a successful, award-winning global fashion label; humanitarian work across charities like Comic Relief, Children In Need, Red Cross and UNICEF. And she's not stopping anytime soon.
However, because the world isn't that fair and beautiful, some people called Victoria undeserving of the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire she is reportedly set to receive from Queen Elizabeth II next year. Worse, they tweeted their outrage with insults.

Victoria Beckham. Can't sing. Can't dance. Has no discernible talent. Gets an OBE. Welcome to 2017.— Otto English (@Otto_English) December 28, 2016
People are just rude.
By the way, David Beckham receiving his OBE in 2003 for his contribution to football was met with little or no criticism, but maybe because social media wasn't born yet. Other netizens were quick to point out Victoria's many achievements, defending her award.
Part of the biggest ever girl band, head of a billion dollar empire, global AIDS ambassador.. How doesn't Victoria Beckham deserve an OBE?— Jack (@JackSlaterrrr) December 28, 2016
Why shouldn't Victoria Beckham, a woman with a savy business mind & UN charity worker get an OBE for showcasing Britain on a world stage?— Mary Eilish 🔮 (@MaryEilishCarr) December 28, 2016
@MaryEilishCarr completely agree. I can't believe all the negativity she's received. She's achieved so much.— Jessica Williams (@jessrosetweets) December 28, 2016
Amused by men up in arms about Victoria Beckham getting an OBE. Kicking a ball is an Honours-worthy career, but fashion design? God forbid!— Guy Lodge (@GuyLodge) December 28, 2016
We need a version of Meryl Streep's DEVIL WEARS PRADA 'cerulean' speech for all men who think fashion design has nothing to do with them.— Guy Lodge (@GuyLodge) December 28, 2016
Note the delicious sarcasm in that last one.
