In addition to her namesake brand, American fashion designer and businesswoman Tory Burch is launching her own sportswear line called Tory Sport this autumn. The collection will feature tennis ensembles, sleek tracksuits, surfwear, golfwear and more.

In a recent interview, Tory revealed that the idea all started when she noticed how her female friends were wearing yoga pants with blazers to lunch. Although she did not agree with the look, it got her thinking.

"I started to think, 'How do we make this stuff chic again'? What a lot of sports brands miss is femininity, unless it's a garish femininity in the form of exposed body parts and neon colours. I was thinking more The Royal Tenenbaums," Tory said.

"The good stuff just seemed to have disappeared," she added. "To go running, I was still wearing the same shorts I have from college."

Tory Sport will hit shelves of its Tory Burch store in Manhattan during New York Fashion Week. No news yet as to when (or if) we'll get it in Malaysia, but we're keeping our fingers crossed!
