Tod's has commissioned tattoo artist Saira Hunjan to work her magic on its Double T bags. Saira, who spends about 22 hours inking each bag, has incorporated lions, serpents, roses and hearts into the designs and remarked that some parts of the process are similar to human tattooing.

"I even use Vaseline to lubricate the skin to help the needle penetrate a bit more," said Saira, who is working from the brand's newly refurbished Old Bond Street store.

If you're hesitant about getting a tattoo for yourself, maybe having a tattooed bag will help ease you into it. The limited edition pieces will be on display in Tod's stores worldwide and the accompanying campaign stars British model Suki Waterhouse. More commercial versions of the bags can be expected from late November.
