The stuff of fairytales: The Victoria's Secret show
Precious gems, angel wings, fairy dust, the world's top models and two very hot singers add up to a show you won't forget
It's no secret that Victoria's Secret shows are about far more than sending a few models down a runway. And this year's show in London, held on 2 December at Earl's Court, was no exception.
Fronted by some of the fashion world's top models, including Joan Smalls, Candice Swanepoel, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes and Jourdan Dunn, the show was an over the top spectacular of glitz totally appropriate for the brand's glam collections.
The highlight, as in most years, was Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio parading the Fantasy Bras, both designed and created by Mouawad and worth $2 million each. With more than 16,000 rubies, diamonds and sapphires held together by 18 karat gold, they're not called 'fantasy' for nothing.
The show revolved around themes that included Gilded Angels (all about golds and metallics), Fairy Tale (glittering fairy wings and shimmery finishes), Dream Girls (pastels, pom poms and fur), and Exotic Traveller (bright colours and prints).
Held for the first time in London, the show also saw Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande take to the stage to perform alongside the models. And of course, a show like this wouldn't be complete without a star-studded guest list. Spotted on the pink carpet were Ellie Goulding, Olivia Palermo, Poppy Delevingne, Daisy Lowe, Mel B and One Direction's Liam Payne, who were all treated to free flow champagne, balloons and an after-party. And if the show was anything to go by, this is the kind of party we need to add to our bucket lists, stat.
