Stella McCartney is well-known for being big on environmental-friendly material when it comes to her collection of ready-to-wear pieces, shoes, and bags. Having just showed her pre-spring 2014 collection in Milan recently, she revealed her thoughts on how people perceive her leather-looking bags.

"It's all real skins! Don't tell anyone! I've just decided that all that environmentally friendly stuff is boring," she joked.

"I'm joking: we use vegetable coatings and materials and we are really pushing boundaries in a sustainable manner without sacrificing style in any way," she explained. "Half of the women here tonight probably don't even know the bags aren't leather, and I find that very exciting."

Stella keeps to her eco-friendly stance at nearly every level possible; her trip to Milan was also to visit her refurbished store, which now features BAUX Träullit tiles, made from recycled wood wool from Sweden.
