Stella McCartney and Polo Ralph Lauren are going to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro – not to compete of course, but to support their respective country's athletes with specially-designed kit and uniforms.

Stella, who also designed for Team GB at the 2012 Olympics, teamed up with Adidas to create the new kit for Great Britain's Olympics and Paralympics team. The kit was described as "a ground-breaking range of performance wear, combining the very latest technical innovation with our signature modern design aesthetic. Union flag hues sit alongside bold textures and modern silhouettes to create a strong sense of identity." Very patriotic!

Meanwhile, Polo Ralph Lauren designed the closing ceremony uniforms for Team USA. The looks were revealed on Today by US athletes Ryan Lochte, Haley Anderson and Jordan Burroughs. Nautical stripes, chino shorts and America's flag colours make up the theme of the collection, which also includes boat shoes for the men and women. Even though the designs are simple, it won't be difficult to spot Team USA in the parade, thanks to the emblematic blue, red and white colour scheme.
