Snoopy goes high fashion again
The popular comic strip beagle and his sister Belle get dressed by Calvin Klein, Isabel Marant, and Diane Von Furstenberg
About thirty years ago, Snoopy and his little sister Belle received a high fashion treatment we only dream of having ourselves. The likes of Giorgio Armani, Karl Lagerfeld, and Gucci dressed the iconic canine siblings, which resulted in a much-celebrated Snoopy in Fashion exhibition.
For Peanuts' 65th anniversary, Charlie Brown's famous pooch is going to get dressed up again. This time, Dries Van Noten, Calvin Klein Collection, Rodarte, and Isabel Marant are slated to be part of the rekindled project. Also back on the Snoopy bandwagon are Betsey Johnson and Diane Von Furstenberg, who were both part of Snoopy in Fashion in 1984.
"We are so excited to celebrate again 30 years later with Snoopy and Belle in fashion," said Diane. "We designed some pyjamas for Snoopy and a wrap dress for Belle, both in our signature chain link."
The new exhibition, Snoopy and Belle in Fashion will debut at New Museum on 8 September during New York Fashion Week, before heading to Paris, Moscow, and Milan.
We can also look forward to the upcoming and first-ever Peanuts film, scheduled for release in 2015.
