Serge Ruffieux is Carven's new creative director

His new tenure with the brand begins next month

French designer Serge Ruffieux has been introduced as Carven's new creative director, replacing former co-creative directors Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud. His assumes his role on 1 February and will be in charge of the brand's ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear collections. Ruffieux's debut collection for Carven will be for the Cruise 2018 season.

"I am thrilled to embrace my new creative role at Carven, feeling a real affinity for Madame Carven and her vision of fashion," he said in a statement. "I look forward and am very honoured to be leading the creative direction of the House as it enters a new chapter."

Ruffieux was Dior's former head designer of its women's ready-to-wear and haute couture studios for ten years. He also held the role of co-artistic director with Lucie Meier at Dior after Raf Simons' departure and before Maria Grazia Chiuri's arrival.
