Sarah Jessica Parker Releases Shoe Line
Finally, we can be in Carrie's shoes
[Updated January 16] Sarah Jessica Parker has released more details about her collection, SJP. She's been working with George Malkemus, CEO of Manolo Blahnik on the collection, and has revealed that the price point will be between $195 to $485 and the designs will be classic, rather than trendy.
Shoes were the silent and often scene-stealing fifth character in Sex and the City, outlasting dozens of men as Carrie’s one true love. She was mugged for her shoes, she faced a friendship dilemma when a pair were stolen during a child’s party, and who could forget that it was a pair of blue Manolo Blahniks that reunited her (for good this time) with Mr Big.
So really it’s a wonder it took Sarah Jessica Parker so long to release her own shoe line. (Because we still think of Carrie and SJP as one and the same.) In fact the shoes will be part of a wider accessories collection from the actress, called SJP, and available next spring at selected Nordstrom stores in the US, and online at Nordstrom.com.
We couldn’t help but wonder what SJP would come up with, but having caught a glimpse of two of the Italian-made heels, Silvia and Pola, we have to say they’re very “Carrie”. Can’t wait for spring.
