There is no doubt that the Rodarte AW14 runway in New York earlier this year pulled some oohs and aahs from the crowd when designers and sisters, Kate and Laura Mulleavy closed their show with five surprise Star Wars-inspired looks.

It's only appropriate, then, that the flowy dresses met the sci-fi characters from the cult franchise in a photoshoot by Todd Cole with New York-based Paper Magazine. The location: Skywalker Ranch, the home of film production giant, Lucasfilm.

"We don't remember a time when we hadn't seen Star Wars. We were born after the films came out, but they seem to be a part of our growing up, from all ages," the sisters said. "Our Fall 2014 collection was inspired by our nostalgia for our childhood, delving into the ephemeral space of our imagination, highlighting our fascination with storytelling and cinema, which culminated with the inclusion of artwork from Star Wars in the five couture gowns ending the collection."
