Rihanna is the new face of Dior
The singer makes history as the first woman of colour to front a campaign for the French fashion house
Is Rihanna the most hardworking person in music or what? In between promoting her new animated feature Home and doing a music documentary with Peter Berg, Badgalriri has also cemented a deal with Dior.
The French fashion house has announced that the 27-year-old artiste will appear in the brand's Secret Garden campaign for Spring 2015, making the Barbadian singer the first woman of colour to front a campaign for Dior.
We think that's a big deal and Riri does too. “It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any colour," she said in an interview with MTV. "I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful – to feel elegant and timeless.”
But Rihanna is no stranger to the fashion and beauty world. She's got her own line of fragrances (and almost had one of her campaigns banned for being too raunchy!), has collaborated with the likes of MAC Cosmetics, Armani and River Island, and just last year, was appointed as Puma's creative director and global brand ambassador.
