Riccardo Tisci and Nike collaborate on a colourful collection
Olympic champions Sanya Richards-Ross and Ashton Eaton star in the campaign
Nike has already collaborated with Riccardo Tisci on shoe collections, so it made sense to eventually go into training apparel, right? Right. And we're psyched that they have!
The highlight: kaleidoscopic prints. Also, full-length tights that are also shorts (tight-shorts? Short-tights? Shtights?). The new NikeLab x RT: Training Redefined collaboration is part of The Summer of Sport campaign, in conjunction with the upcoming Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
"It was interesting…a little bit of a difficult process because to make something that is very dynamic, to do sport and to do activity, and make it strongly recognisable — a fashion statement — is not easy," Riccardo said in a statement. "But we achieved something that's amazing. There's a lot of sensuality."
That explains the beautiful prints and the practicality of shtights. We love it already.
From what the Givenchy designer revealed on Instagram, his designs also include plainer pieces that will appeal to those who prefer to be a little more inconspicuous on the field.
NikeLab x RT: Training Redefined is slated for a July release, just in time for the 2016 Olympics in August. Sign up here to get updates about the collection.
