Ralph & Russo "honoured" to dress Angelina Jolie
Newly appointed honorary Dame Angelina Jolie chooses to wear the London-based couture house to her audience with the queen
It's a big, no, huge deal, being bestowed the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George by Queen Elizabeth II, and Angelina Jolie is one such person to receive the honour as a foreigner. For her audience with Britain's monarch at Buckingham Palace, the actress had carefully selected her outfit; a below-the-knee skirt suit by Ralph & Russo.
The colour palette and silhouette were very appropriate for the event, and although monotonous by colour texturing standards, did not take an ounce from Angie's style and grace. She paired her outfit with matching grey pumps.
"It was an absolute honour for Angelina Jolie to ask us to create her outfit for such a momentous and meaningful event," co-founder Tamara Ralph said. "With Ralph & Russo being a British couture house, it was befitting that she chose to wear one of our creations to Buckingham Palace. The dove-grey wool-crêpe suit was perfectly suited to the occasion; simple, elegant and refined."
