Quvenzhané Wallis lands Armani Junior campaign
At just 10 years old, Quvenzhané Wallis has landed her first fashion campaign
You remember her as the youngest Best Actress nominee ever for Beasts of the Southern Wild in last year’s Academy Awards when she was nine years old. Already feeling inadequate? Hold on, there’s another reason: The now 10-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis has landed a fashion campaign for Armani Junior.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Annie star was shot by Stefano Azario for the brand's new Fall campaign. The Italian designer handpicked her as he commented, "Quvenzhané is so talented despite her young age. She is a child who has the natural ability to play many different roles.” Giorgio added, "Her kindness, curiosity and openness toward others really struck me, as they are all traits that I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior."
This isn’t her first time working with the Italian designer. Quvenzhané began working with the fashion house when Giorgio custom-made her navy blue Oscars gown last year. "I was honoured to wear his custom gown to the Oscars. It made me feel like a princess," said Wallis, who hails from Louisana. "When I saw Mr. Armani's Privé show in New York, the dresses were so pretty... I had too many favourites. Afterwards when I met him, I realised Mr. Armani is such a nice man."
Quvenzhané, we might be more than ten years older (or more) than you, but if this keeps on going, we're going to want to borrow all your clothes – and that puppy.
