Primark To Open In America
The budget clothing retailer to open first outlet in Boston
Primark is set to open its first outlet in the land of the free. The planned 70,000-square foot store will launch in Boston in late 2015.
It's a timely move for the UK high street stalwart which was established in the late sixties in Ireland. The clothing chain's popularity boomed in the early noughties with its foray into fast fashion. Affordable reproductions of runway looks were on shop racks in a matter of days, a fact which was picked up on by the London fashion pack who were soon shopping there in their droves.
Primark's place in the UK high street fashion scene was cemented with the opening of its Oxford Street store in 2007.
ABF, parent company of the brand released a statement saying, "After extensive research, it has been decided to take the concept to consumers in the USA."
Now Primark, once you’ve made a big impact and sales in America, would you consider on expanding the store to Asia? Possibly, Malaysia? Then we won't have to annoy our London-bound friends with requests for Primark goodies.
