Lorenzo Serafini has been announced as Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti's new creative director. He replaces Natalie Ratabesi, who after stints at Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Philosophy itself, joined American label, Vince in June.

With experience from Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana – where he served as head womenswear designer both times – under his belt, Lorenzo feels that his new appointment fits his own creative whimsies.

"Philosophy is a positive term defined by deep and stimulating thoughts and ideas," he said. "I'm happy to have the opportunity to create a new fashion story exploring my own aesthetic."

His first collection will be showcased in Milan for the pre-fall 2016 season.
