Your next sunglasses could be designed by Olivia Palermo
Olivia Palermo lends her fashion star to Westward Leaning's new collection of sunglasses
If you haven't heard of sunglasses-with-a-conscience brand Westward Leaning before, it's about to be all over your social media feeds. Westward Leaning has a streamlined collection of high quality sunglass styles, and they donate a portion of the sales of each pair to a related charitable cause. Now they've roped street style icon Olivia Palermo in for a collaboration. The result: simple, striking sunglasses in both classic and contemporary colour combinations. We're particularly loving the blue-tabbed tortoiseshell Palm Beach style.
Olivia spoke to ELLE.com about the collection, citing different city vibes and seasonal needs as major influences. “When you go to each city, you kind of have to adapt to the environment and the style. In Paris, I tend to go for a darker, more fashion forward style and during the summer it's fun to play with more of the neon colours and lenses," Olivia said. "We have been playing with colors and want to make them as versatile as possible.”
There are eight styles in total, variations on a classic wayfarer style in different frame and lens colour combinations. Each model is $210, and $10 from the sales of each will go to ADCAM’s Maasai Project, a campaign that works to support women artisans, provide primary education and empower the Maasai community to become self-sustainable.
