You know his shoes by just one name – Manolos – but in the new trailer for the Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards documentary, get to know the designer behind some of the world's most coveted shoes.

He may be "the greatest shoemaker of the 20th and the 21st century" and his designs are worn by the who's-who of fashion but ultimately, Blahnik's love for footwear stemmed from something rather peculiar: he used to make shoes for lizards.

Between him joking around with Rihanna and Karlie Kloss, and testimonials from supermodel Iman and Andre Leon Talley, it's evident that Blahnik's playful personality is infectious. His passion for shoes and life translates into his gorgeous designs – as if we ever needed another reason to love Manolos.

Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards will premiere in select theatres in the US on 15 September 2017. The film might not be hitting local theatres, but we're sure you'll figure out how to watch this one.
