Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign features fresh new Instagram faces
The Marc by Marc Jacobs AW14 campaign is going to be very colourful
Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley, Marc by Marc Jacobs' new creatives have brought together social media and raw youth into their upcoming campaign for Autumn/Winter 2014. After a callout for models via the #CastMeMarc Instagram project, nine out of seventy thousand hopefuls were selected to star in the shoot.
"It seemed like a great idea to me, as casting through Instagram seemed cool, current and strong," Marc said to WWD. "We wanted the ads to shout with youth and energy…to be fresh and reclaim the spirit that the collection had when we first conceived of it – to be another collection, not a second line."
Finalists Suzi (Australia), Martin (Uruguay), Nina (Slovenia), Emmanuel (USA), Dorothy (South Korea), Jess (England), Vivian (USA), Spencer (Canada), and Angelica (Sweden) were flown to New York. David Sims photographed them wearing loud, graphic looks alongside unapologetically outrageous hairstyles and hair colours (we love the pink!).
Now about that possible, maybe very probable name change we kept hearing about that was supposed to be part of the label's revamp... when will it be, Marc?
