Louis Vuitton teams up with Unicef for #Makeapromise

Proceeds from the special edition Lockit necklace and bracelet will be donated to Unicef

Last January, Louis Vuitton inked a partnership with Unicef, which has already raised $2.5million for Unicef's work in bringing humanitarian help and support to children in Syria and Nigeria. In 2016 the funds raised were able to provide water to four and a half million Syrian children and their families.

This year Louis Vuitton and Unicef launched their first #makeapromise day on January 12, and will be raising funds through the sale of the specially designed Silver Lockit collection. You can purchase the Silver Lockit pendant (RM2,800) and the Silver Lockit Bracelet (RM2,300) in Louis Vuitton stores across the world, and 40% of the proceeds will be donated to Unicef to support their work with children in need, especially in areas affected by conflict. 

"The idea of the #makeapromise campaign comes from children: when they make a promise, they mean it, and they seal it with a pinky promise," said Louis Vuitton president Michael Burke. "Children show us a simple way to change the world."

“Millions of children, the foundations of tomorrow’s stable, healthy societies are today experiencing violence, conflict and diseases," said Gérard Bocquenet, UNICEF director of private fundraising and partnerships. "Now more than ever, the need to stand together for and with children is critical.”
