Louis Vuitton's Spring 2016 campaign stars Final Fantasy character

An unprecedented head-on collision of fantasy and fashion

For the first time in years, fashion, tech and gaming websites are all buzzing about the same thing: Louis Vuitton's SS16 purse ad campaign. Instead of the usual model muse or celeb ambassador, the 'Series 4' ad stars video game character Lightning, from the Final Fantasy game series.

In a bold move, Nicolas Ghesquière united couture and gaming for an exceptional campaign which he debuted on his Instagram account on Saturday 26 December. Vuitton partnered with video game designer Tetsuya Normura of Square Enix to animate the campaign, done Japanese anime style.

Lightning looks very much like the models that strutted down his SS16 runway, pink hair and Vuitton fashion all in. While most Final Fantasy fans may not have a clue about Louis Vuitton, and the same applies vice versa, they will now. Watch the full video below.
