Longines is celebrating its incredible 185th anniversary this year. Besides having ambassadors like Aaron Kwok, Aishwarya Rai Bachan and Kate Winslet, the luxury timepiece label has a rich history filled with monumental events like sports partnerships and creating distinguished timing equipment designs.

To commemorate the occasion, Longines has created a calendar that allows you to read a new anecdote about the brand every day for the whole of 2017. Think Facebook's 'On This Day' project but catered especially for the watch brand – that's 365 short stories about Longines' history.

Today's story says, "On 22 February 1984, the Palais Omnisports Paris-Bercy arena was inaugurated. Longines began operating a large electronic timekeeping display. It took over two years to carry out this project."
