Kendall and Kylie join other celebrity siblings for Balmain ad
It's a family affair
Following in Kim and Kanye's footsteps, sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner have bagged themselves a Balmain campaign. For the French maison's new sibling-themed campaign, shot by Mario Sorrenti, the two are joined by sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid and Joan and Erika Smalls. Brothers Armando and Fernando Cabral, meanwhile, appear in the men's collection ad.
Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing said that the theme was inspired by his last Spring/Summer ad featuring Kimye. "This season's Balmain campaign was inspired by a brief, key moment that happened while we were shooting our last campaign. While I watched Mario capture a kiss last fall, I was struck by the love and emotion that I was witnessing in front of me. Starting with a determination to once again focus on the beauty of an intimate connection, my team and I quickly concluded that a celebration of the unique and unconditional love of siblings is a natural progression from the spirit of last season."
While Olivier focuses on "intimate relationships," the campaign's reach will be anything but. The Jenners and Hadids each have more than a million followers on Instagram and more than 100K on Twitter, so if we were to do the math, this campaign is probably the biggest in terms of social media reach for the season. Good job, Balmain.
