Karl Lagerfeld launched his new book Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld with a party in Cannes last week. His celebrity guests included models Kendall Jenner, Lindsey Wixson, Harry Brant, Shirley Mallmann, Toni Garrn, Izabel Goulart and Lily Donaldson.

Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld is not just a book but a wooden box of Fendi goodies. Inside the box is a scrapbook of Karl's sketches, a compilation of all the Fendi logos he has designed, a DVD with videos of the designer drawing as he talks about his memories at the fashion house, and a Q&A booklet.

The scribbled cover imitates Karl's nonchalant sketching style; a humble representation of the fact that his relationship with Fendi – which spans 50 years – has made fashion history as the longest designer/brand collaboration.

No doubt he'll proudly add his new book to his massive collection at home.

"Today, I only collect books; there is no room left for something else," he said at his International Festival of Fashion and Photography master class in April. "If you go to my house, I'll have you walk around the books. I ended up with a library of 300,000. It's a lot for an individual."

Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld retails for approximately €100 (local price yet to be confirmed) and hits shelves at Fendi boutiques and top bookstores worldwide in July. Scroll on to see more photos from the launch event.
