Louis Vuitton is turning 160 this year, and celebrating with a number of extremely high-profile collaborations. Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin, Marc Newson, Rei Kawakubo, photographer Cindy Sherman and architect Frank Gehry will be reinterpreting the LV monogram for Louis Vuitton's 160th anniversary.

The project, called 'The Icon and the Iconoclasts', will result in a special series of bags. "We have assembled an amazing group of talents – geniuses, I would say," said Delphine Arnault, Louis Vuitton's executive vice president. "Each one is among the best in his or her field. The monogram is at the centre of our house, so we celebrate it every day. But we thought this project was really special because the personalities we chose are fascinating and diverse... This is a very interesting territory, to have collaborations with exceptional, creative minds. It's a really fun project. It's done with a lot of humour."

The bags will be priced from €2,000 to €4,000, and will be available mid-October.
