Karl Lagerfeld proves he's still got the moves at the #CocoCuba after party
Highlights from Chanel's Cruise 2017 show
Karl Lagerfeld is hardly seen dancing, but when he does, it's remembered forever. To add to photographic evidence of the Chanel creative director dancing with Oscar de la Renta back in 2002, we can now enjoy videos of Karl dancing after the Chanel Cruise 2017 runway show in Cuba.
French actresses Vanessa Paradis and Cécile Cassel were his lucky partners on the #CocoCuba dance floor. What a legend!
Now, back to the show itself. The pedestrian-only Paseo del Prado street was closed off to make way for Chanel's runway.
Chanel's Cruise 2017 stood out for its vacation-worthy yet never over-the-top colour palette, which was "inspired by the vibrant baroque facades of the old town: yellow, pink, orange, turquoise, bright green."
Prints can be anticipated from Chanel especially when it comes to the Cruise seasons, but we love how American muscle cars like the Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac were made into standout patterns on shirts, dressing robes, swimwear and skirts (pictured below).
Also, consider this the perfect reason to break out all your vacation T-shirts, as long as you keep them classy with oversized brooches, pearl necklaces, statement skirts and hats.
The accessories were as covetable as anything Chanel offers for the season, but we're particularly charmed by this wooden clutch. Novelty with a dash of luxury – what's not to love?
Chanel's celebrity friends graced the show, Tilda Swinton, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Gisele Bündchen among them.
The models arguably had the most fun by the looks of it; closing the show with a drive-through fiesta.
And there was dancing.
Lots of dancing. It's Cuba, of course there's lots of dancing! Makes you sorry you weren't there to witness the spectacle yourself.
