It's not really news that Gisele Bündchen is the world's highest-paid model – as far as Forbes' calculations go – but $47 million a year, equivalent to over $128,000 a day is a fact not easily-neglected. The Brazilian beauty places fifty-sixth on the Forbes World's Most Powerful Celebrities list.

Just over the last twelve months, Gisele has had contracts for H&M, Carolina Herrera, Balenciaga, and Stuart Weitzman, as well as the much-anticipated Baz Luhrmann-directed Chanel No.5 campaign. The former Victoria's Secret Angel also presented the FIFA World Cup trophy in a custom Louis Vuitton case at the recent finals in Brazil, because you know, that honour and $128,000 a day is exactly what you get out of bed for.

Everyone knows Gisele. German supermodel Claudia Schiffer said "Her face is well known; her name is recognised. No other girl occurs to me that people in the street would recognise. She sells."

However, in all her wealth, the model is as generous as she is beautiful. Not hesitant about giving back, Gisele is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme as well as a board member of non-profit Rainforest Alliance.
