Word has it that Oscar de la Renta is still looking for a new creative director, and it is definitely not John Galliano.

The former Christian Dior and Givenchy designer had previously worked with Oscar de la Renta in February 2013, for the fashion house's highly acclaimed Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. However, despite Oscar de la Renta having previously expressed his interest in working with John again, sources revealed that "it is categorically not happening."

Apparently, the reason behind John's cut from Creative Director consideration is monetarily influenced. The team at Oscar were reportedly unwilling to come up with the money to pay for the design team John needed, a factor which held up negotiations.

"They couldn't reach an agreement, although John and Oscar remain very good friends," a source said.

With the role of Creative Director still open at Oscar de la Renta, we’re on tiptoes to see which designer will be chosen to take the reins after its Dominican founder steps down.
