Just yesterday, we reported exciting news for Saint Laurent – the maison joined Instagram, finally, and Hedi Slimane decided to move part of his AW16 show to Hollywood. Then WWD reported earth-shattering, fashion-week-shaking news that Hedi may be poised to make an exit from Saint Laurent, with Anthony Vaccarello rumoured to take his place.

Sources say the designer has failed to reach an agreement on the renewal of his contract and is preparing to leave. The news has sent the fashion industry into a spin, given that Slimane has not only creatively revamped the brand with his rock 'n' roll aesthetic, but also brought it record-breaking sales.

WWD reports that Saint Laurent has already held extensive talks with Vaccarello, the Belgian designer who has his own label and is also creative director of Versus Versace.

First the exit of Raf Simons from Dior, then Alber Elbaz from Lanvin, and now another potential shake-up at one of the major players. It's clear a season of seismic change is upon us.
