Iris van Herpen wins 2014 ANDAM Fashion Award
The Dutch designer beats stiff competition to win this year's ANDAM Fashion Award
Dutch designer Iris van Herpen is this year's winner of the ANDAM Fashion Award. Known for her theatrical, avant-garde work (images from her most recent collection feature models curled up and suspended in clear plastic), the designer beat Etudes Studio, Fausto Puglisi, Jean-Paul Lespagnard, Rad Hourani, Steven Tai and Yiqing Yin to win the award.
Van Herpen will receive a prize of €250,000, as well as a year of mentoring from Kering chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault. There's also the matter of a purchase order from Hudson's Bay Company, €110,000 worth of Swarovski crystals, a capsule collection for TheCorner.com, a commercial and strategic mentorship from the Tomorrow showroom, and space in Galeries Lafayette's Paris flagship to present two collections.
