Fenty University

Rihanna showcased her Fenty Puma Autumn Winter 2017 collection yesterday in Paris and it was a show that's hard to forget. The clothes were a more eccentric take on preppy/sporty university staples like tracksuits, oversized hoodies, quilted parkas, jerseys and basketball shorts. They're what you'd wear if you were cool enough to get into Fenty University.

"In Barbados, we don't get to dress up in school," Rihanna told WWD. "It's strictly school uniforms. Every time I would come to America, I would see kids getting into dressing up... this was my way of expressing myself in that avenue, having fun, creating looks that blended with the different cliques and marrying that world with sport."

The clothes weren't all that were worth paying attention to.

The invites
To set the tone for what the show would be like, the invites were printed on detention cards and came with varsity pins.

The venue
Rihanna held her show at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, where models walked on rows of wooden tables decorated with classic green library lamps as guests gazed up at them from their seats.

The soundtrack
The show was backed by a soundtrack of library-table-stomping-worthy songs like Creep by Radiohead, Happy Go Sucky F-cky by Die Antwoord and Bad Girls by M.I.A.

Star-studded front row
Rihanna's gal pal Cara Delevingne sat front row with Luc Besson, Joe and Nick Jonas, Salma Hayek and Francois Henri Pinault. Her family were also there to support her.

The first look out at the Fenty Puma show, modelled by Simone Thompson aka Slick Woods, consisted of a long plaid jacket and matching shorts. In Riri's world, you're supposed to wear it with a badass attitude, without a top.

Riri tested the runway stage herself before the show began. In a behind-the-scenes clip posted on Instagram, she noted that she's "never been in love with a collection more than this one", and struts down the long tables wearing Saint Laurent's new sparkly boots.

BTS. Counting down the minutes until my #FENTYXPUMA AW17 fashion show! #PaRIH @puma

The reactions
The world has never wanted to be in detention at Fenty University this much before.
