"There have been inaccurate statements on recent articles regarding Hedi and the usage of the YSL historical logo"

In 2012, Hedi Slimane deleted all his tweets on his account after writing an open letter addressed to fashion critic Cathy Horyn, with whom he shares a feud that dates back years. That was the last personal social media entry from the former Saint Laurent creative director, until now.

Slimane's Twitter account, which still features the image of an egg, now has 22 tweets that target how "inaccurate statements" were made about the use of the YSL logo. He doesn't name names, but a new review by Horyn for new Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello's debut collection may have been what triggered the rant.

In her review for The Cut, Horyn suggested that Slimane had done away with the 'Yves' in the Saint Laurent name and wrote "Apparently, Vaccarello has restored the Y, which had been excised by his predecessor, Hedi Slimane, as both a throwback to the brand's original name and an attempt to modernise it. (The truth is, despite Slimane's efforts, most people still say YSL.)"

Slimane wasn't having any of that. Although the name of ready-to-wear collection became Saint Laurent under his tenure, he kept the YSL logo in his accessories, runway sets, store architecture and more, which he cited in pictures in his rant.

What's more, reports are surfacing about another lawsuit Slimane is filing against former employer Kering. In June after his exit from Saint Laurent, he won a case against the luxury parent company after asking that his non-compete clause be reinstated, along with the financial compensation that it came with, which amounted to $13 million. Now, French news agency AFP reports that the designer wants Kering to pay him a sum of nearly €10 million, which he believes is owed to him for his work in the last year of his Saint Laurent contract.
