Eyewear designer Luxottica to help usher in new market for Google Glass

If anyone has been hoping for a wider range of Google Glass designs (not that we didn't think the titanium prescription frames were geek-chic enough already), your prayers are about to be answered.

Luxottica Group, the eyewear giant behind Ray-Ban and Oakley are to join forces with Google to develop a new breed of eyewear for Glass. Together, they will bring this innovation to the forefront of the eyewear market with frames that will also appeal to those outside the tech-savvy audience.

Considering the impact of eyewear in the fashion world, it only makes sense that Google wants to inject style into Glass. What to expect: the combination of "high-end technology with avant-garde design". No drafts have been made as yet, so we're not sure what Luxottica means by avant-garde.

If all goes well, soon we’ll be able to say "Ok glass" to our Ray Bans.
