Giorgio Armani is hosting Moto Guo
The Malaysian designer will showcase his work alongside three other emerging designers at Milan Fashion Week
It's certainly been a good year for designer Moto Guo (also our Breakthrough Designer of the Year). He's gone from becoming a LVMH prize finalist to showing his SS17 collection at Milan Menswear Fashion Week in July to being sponsored by Giorgio Armani!
The Malaysian designer will debut his Autumn Winter 2017 collection at the Armani/Teatro in January at the Milan Menswear Fashion Week next year with two other emerging designers. The others who will join Moto Guo are Consistence from China/Taiwan and Yoshio Kubo from Japan.
"I like the idea of giving more than one brand the chance to present their work during this event, leaving all the expressivity to the looks without any big set-up and I hope that it will add momentum to their career, as it did to mine," Armani said in a statement.
Obviously, Moto Guo is extremely excited. "Yes, we pinched ourselves in the faces and it is really happening," he shared on Instagram. "For the last two seasons, we have been truly blessed. From being shortlisted for the 2016 LVMH Prize to our international debut show in Milan Fashion Week last season fully sponsored by @Cameramoda, each moment is so surreal."
Congratulations, Moto Guo! We'll be rooting for you from our desks.
