Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss star in Versace AW16 film
Versace also played unreleased Prince music at its spring 2017 menswear runway show
Versace has released a new short film for its Autumn Winter 2016 campaign, starring Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss. Bruce Weber shot the film in Chicago, where the two models played mums to adorable kids, with dashing husbands by their sides. It reflects the image of the strong modern Versace woman, as Donatella Versace explained.
"She's a superstar, and she runs her business, and she runs her family too," Donatella said to The New York Times. "Fashion is a part of life, and I thought it was important to show it could be a part of many different lives. That it could help you in your life. It's not about creating beautiful illusions anymore."
A different cut of the film made its debut at the Versace SS17 menswear show in Milan yesterday. The presentation was nothing short of amazing and was accompanied by unreleased music by the late Prince.
"He sent me those songs five months ago," Donatella said. "He sent me music all the time. People look for the vault – I am the vault!" The designer even wore purple for her final walk in honour of the late singer.
