Frida Giannini is wearing a Valentino dress to her wedding
Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are rumoured to have designed the ex-Gucci creative director's dress
Former Gucci creative director Frida Giannini has been quiet since her departure from the Italian company. But not even her low profile can stop the fashion world from talking about her wedding to Gucci's former chief executive officer Patrizio di Marco, taking place today. The word is that Frida will wear a Valentino gown designed for her by creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. We say good choice, not to mention good timing, considering the duo just bagged this year's International Award from the CFDA.
Frida and Patrizio met while working at Gucci in 2008 and both abruptly resigned in 2014. They are exchanging vows in Sabaudia, a beach resort an hour's drive out of Rome. No word on who's attending the ceremony, but we're expecting the who's who of the fashion and entertainment industries. Giannini and Patrizio's two-year-old daughter, Greta, is rumoured to be the flower girl.
We wonder what's next for fashion's power couple? Here's to a new label coming out of the union.
