Dolce & Gabbana cleared of tax evasion

The Italian supreme court has overturned convictions against the Italian designers

In May this year, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and their accountant were found guilty, after appealing the original decision, of tax evasion. Now the Italian Supreme Court has overturned those convictions and the previous 18-month jail sentence.

“We have always been honest and we are extremely proud of this recognition by the Italian court of justice," the designers said in a statement. "Viva l’Italia."

The decision ends seven years of legal troubles for the fashion house, who have seen numerous charges and trials over the years.
