A lingerie line, now an eyewear deal – one way or another, you’re going to be seeing a lot more of burlesque queen Dita Von Teese. Dita has signed a deal with LA-based eyewear company DITA Inc (don’t be confused – DITA Inc co-founder John Juniper named the company for Dita), and will be releasing a line of eyewear, out next month.

“The inspiration behind the Dita Von Teese collection was to create elegant feminine styles with a classic flare that women could wear on any occasion,” John said. “Dita Von Teese personifies the quintessential woman with a sartorial grace that is unique.”

The range encompasses ten styles including, of course, a classic cat eye shape but also some edgier metal and acetate cut out frames. “Although I love frames with retro flair, I don’t like to wear authentic vintage glasses because the proportion is rarely correct for a present-day face; they are usually too small, and end up looking grandmotherly,” Dita said to WWD. “The way to capture the elegance and spirit of vintage style is to understand that it must be done with a contemporary twist to make it current and sexy. This is what this collection is about: sexy, wearable eyewear that conveys high-glamour and elegance. It certainly isn’t a line of disposable fashion glasses; they’re made to last.”

The eyewear will start from $235, and be available in selected department stores including Alain Afflelou in France, Italy and Spain.
