Deborah Lloyd exits Kate Spade New York
The creative director will be replaced by Nicola Glass
Kate Spade New York has lost its creative director, Deborah Lloyd who has helmed the label for 10 years. Her exit comes shortly after the American label was acquired by Tapestry Inc, formerly Coach Inc.
"We have great admiration for Deborah's accomplishments and her vision and creative leadership have been instrumental to the growth of Kate Spade," said Tapestry Inc's chief executive Victor Luis.
Wasting no time, Tapestry Inc has named Nicola Glass – the current senior vice president of accessories design at Michael Kors – as Lloyd's replacement.
"We are extremely pleased that she will be leading the strong creative team already in place, while bringing her unique aesthetic and personal style to Kate Spade," Victor said of Glass. "Nicola fully understands the feminine, fun and fashionable style of Kate Spade and is excited to bring its distinctive style to global audiences."
Glass will start her new duties in January 2018.
