We've only been able to admire costume designer Colleen Atwood's work onscreen but soon we'll be able to tote them too. Colleen is venturing off-screen and into handbags, having just introduced her first collection.

"I have always loved beautiful leather objects, especially the detail that goes into designing them both inside and out," she said. "I took part in a philanthropic video series with Citizens of Humanity last year and when they asked me what I would like to do next and I told them about wanting to design a handbag line. They offered to help me bring it to life and I jumped at the opportunity."

You'd recognise Colleen's exquisite costume work in Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Alice in Wonderland, all of which she has won an Academy Award for, besides being nominated seven other times.

The 65-year-old's debut collection consists of clutches, shoulder bags, and backpacks. (We're lusting after that black and white ponyskin clutch.)

"I think that this collection will be great for the busy women of today. The bags go from day to evening easily and are elegant in both colour and style," Colleen said.
