British luxury shoes and accessories designer Charlotte Olympia has created a scholarship fund for cordwainer (that's a fancy word for shoemaking) students at the London College of Fashion. Charlotte herself graduated from Cordwainers in 2004 before working for designers Emanuel Ungaro and Giambattista Valli.

This will be the first footwear scholarship for the school and is it open to first-year applicants, who need to undergo a review by a panel of fashion industry judges, if shortlisted.

"I am very happy to be giving something back to a school which provided me with the skills and confidence to create my own luxury brand and build a career in an industry I love," Charlotte told WWD.
