Betabrand's Spring Collection Models Have PhDs
Online retailer launches spring line modelled by highly educated women
When San Francisco-based Betabrand introduced the sweatpants that look like dress pants to the fashion world, we could barely contain ourselves. Now they've got us talking again with its choice of models that they call "ravishing roster of PhDs and doctoral candidates" for Betabrand's new spring collection.
"When you look beyond the ranks of the professionally beautiful, photography becomes a lot more fun," said Chris Lindland, Betabrand founder in a statement.
Smart fashions modelled by smart women; very smart, indeed. Not that it's a revolutionary lesson for all that intelligent women can be fashion-forward, but it's a breath of fresh air that Betabrand (any brand for that matter) is also working with women who are not just "professionally beautiful."
And we're talking PhDs in Nuclear Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Education, Chemical Biology, Sociology, and Neuropsychology. No joke. See for yourself.
