Behind the scenes at Dior Haute Couture
Creative director Raf Simons talks about the collection and shares exclusive backstage images
Dior's creative director Raf Simons has said that he is finding himself more and more intestested in the past these days, so it was only fitting that for the maison's Autumn 2015 Haute Couture collection, the Belgian designer looked to Flemish artists such as Hieronymus Bosch for inspiration.

"I was interested to see if I could do something in fashion with the idea that relates to the Flemish masters, probably because of my own background, coming from Antwerp," he says in this video. "Besides that, I was interested also with how Christian Dior himself was also inspired by the past."

Looking into the past is not without its challenges. And one of the biggest obstacles Raf had to face when designing this collection was how to make something "that is very loaded, very heavy or very historical" into something that will make sense today. He, of course, achieves it with floral dresses, one-armed coats in cashmere, leather or fur, and mini numbers in contemporary, wearable silhouettes.
