Confirmed: Alexander Wang is leaving Balenciaga
The French house is now looking for his successor
Earlier this month, we reported that Alexander Wang's contract with Balenciaga was still being discussed. Today, WWD confirmed that the American designer is really leaving his post as creative director at the French maison. His last collection for Balenciaga will be presented at Paris Fashion Week in September for the Spring 2016 season.
Alexander joined Balenciaga at the end of 2012, making his stint a pretty short one compared to Nicolas Ghesquière's; the latter was Balenciaga's creative director for 15 years. On the bright side, Alexander can channel all his focus into his eponymous label.
