Alber Elbaz to receive honorary doctorate
The Lanvin designer is to be honoured by the Royal College of Art with a doctorate
Looks like a number of designers are putting on their mortarboards to receive doctorates for their contributions to fashion and culture. Alber Elbaz is one of the latest to add a "Dr." in the front of his industry-reputed name.
The Lanvin designer is to be honoured at a commencement ceremony by the Royal College of Art later today, 27 June at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Alber previously worked with Guy Laroche, Yves Saint Laurent, and Krizia, before he was appointed artistic director of Lanvin in 2001. The Israeli fashion designer was also on the list of Time 100: Most Influential People in the World in 2007.
