Alber Elbaz removed from Lanvin's board of directors
Lanvin's former creative director has no more say in the brand
Alber Elbaz is no longer on Lanvin's board of directors. The decision, made during a meeting at the brand's Paris headquarters, comes six months after his abrupt exit from the fashion house. According to WWD, he remains a minor shareholder, but can no longer take part in any decision-making concerning Lanvin.
Elbaz's departure last October was followed by claims of poor design quality, "'aggression' towards management" and "grave and groundless accusations" against Lanvin's majority owner Shaw-Lan Wang. WWD reported in November that the designer responded in a letter, calling their accusations "unjustifiable" and threatened to sue for defamation.
With Elbaz completely out of the picture now, all eyes are on his successor Bouchra Jarrar, who will make her Lanvin debut at Paris Fashion Week this coming October.
